Subject: Shackles & Hangers IP: Logged
Message: I am trying to figure out a way to lift my rear end a little (still) and am leaning toward shackles. I saw on another thread that if I put in 2" shackles then I won't need hangers. Is this correct? Do I need to add hangers for all shackle installs? The shackles are about $55 but rhe hangers are like $110 or more. So I am hoping to save a few bucks and go with the shackles only.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks all!

Message: I'm not sure about the hangers, but I do know that you
won't get 2" of lift from 2" shackles. The shackled aren't at
the same level the wheel is, so the lift is something around
1/2 the height of the shackle.

Message: Thanks Toren, I have actually heard that. I think conig was saying he put in 4" shackles to get 2" of lift. But still am unsure about the hangers. Also, I noticed the rear of my leaf springs where the meet the shackle is just above my exhaust pipe, almost sitting on top of it. If I put on a longer shackle is this going to push the leaf down an conflict with the pipe or will it just push the frame up?
