It's now been about 2 weeks longer than I was told to expect them.
I'm getting itchy for me cams.

two part numbers. He can tell you exactly
which dealer has them in stock and how long
it will take to get them to you. Just check the
part numbers and make sure one cam is
longer than the other. That is what I did.

Message: Jeep Guy, I don't think you understand, all the #11's have a #12 packaged in them and Daimler is working on it, locate all the #11's you want, open the package and it will have a #12 in the package. That's the problem.
Graphite, call the shop if you have any questions concerning your order, no one here will know better than me on the phone. Later!

Message: Yeah. I just happened to put the number in my wallet so I can call again tomarrow morning. Arizona time is kind of later than Florida time. If I don't call in the AM here, KRC will be closed soon after.
I know the last time I called, about two weeks ago, the guy I talked to said I was "next on the list to go out". So, if they recently got ONE stright set in I would hope it's mine.
I understand what you are saying now. DC is sending them out boxed wrong. You get two of the same side when you order both sides or whatever.
SOmething else funny. My friend ordered a piston, cam, springs kit for his Yamaha Warrior.
HE bought the bike used and was told by the place he got it that it was stock and that the previous owner brought it in regularly.
Well we did the piston and cam swap. It was interesting to get the head and cyclinder off and on with the engine in the frame. It was getting late that night and we put the piston rings on, put it on the rod, set the cylinder on, etc. Then I mentioned how I should have checked sizes, ring gap, etc. But we didn't want to lift the cylinder back out of the frame etc so we went ahead and bolted it up.
Well. It wouldn't start and compression was low. With a domed up piston we thought?? SO I took it back apart today. The piston had been bored or we got the wrong new one.
The OLD rings have only a .014" gap. Set the NEW rings in their and we got about .080" gap!!!!
Holy sh!t batman! We were dumb ass's for not checking that!
Same thing happened with a slightly used 360 i had once. It was built by someone and slightly used before an accident and I got a deal on it. But I went to re ring it anyway (not trusting someone's word). Well LUCKILY I checked the ring gap. The NEW standard rings I bought had a HUGE gap! The old ones did not.
I scratched the little bit of carbon build up off of the top of the piston to read ".030".
It had been bored. I threw on some small cc heads and that 360 ran like a bat out of hell. All the way to 6K RPM's easy too. None of that 4K dive like they say about the R/T.
No more old vehicles around for me to play with these days. No room. I got to keep playing with my new Dak. I still can't wait for the HO cams.

Message: Thanks janesy. You got the picture. What the hell is that dudes problem anyway?
Oh well. Like we care. I'll probably buy my friend a new oversized piston for his bike and use the standard one for mine since we have the same ATV and I KNOW mine is stock because I bought mine new in 2003. That will kick my compression from 9.2 up to almost 11 : 1. Not a bad deal. That way we can make the best out of that situation.
Now the GOOD news.
They got some cams in that were correct. Mine were shipped out yesterday and I even got a tracking number. Scheduled to arrive at my house next wedensday. I may install them next weekend. I'll try to remember to take pictures of the entire process so I can post them for others.

Message: Thanks Janesy. I plan on enjoying them!
On another thread people are saying they didn't get the gains they expected, etc. NOT sure what they actually expected. On most other threads people SWEAR by the cams as the holy grail! I already ported out my stock 68MM TB so I hope it works well with the cams.
I expect these to finally be something you will actually FEEL with the BUTT-DYNO!
Paul, I take it from what just happened that they are taking stock cams and sendning them to be re ground into 212's and the likes. So you had to wait as well. Bummer. Too bad with the cam mix ups from Mopar.

Message: No Kowalski. Like I was just saying, they are expected to be delivered to my front door this Wedensday (march 24th) according to the UPS tracking number. Last I looked they made it to Texas :-)
I should be doing the swap this coming Saturday unless we go to Tucson to see some friends. Then of course we will most likely be taking the minivan.
I did however luck out recently with my Quad. My friend ordered a complete kit for his Yamaha Warrior. His is a 1997, mine a 2003. He was told his was stock by the place he got it used from a few months ago.
The kit had a lightweight high comp piston, cam, and valve springs. We got into it and lo and behold his motor has been bored over!
So, now he has to go order a new piston for his bore. So... I got the piston for my bike. It raises the compression by over 1 point and is lighter. After tearing his engine apart it only took a few hours to do mine. I haven't taken it out for a ride yet. But I better break it in before we go to the Dunes or the Cinders again.
I'll post some of those pics on another thread. And I also will post good pics of my cam swap when I do it. It should only take a few hours I assume. I've got air tools and all.

They sent it with a new HO Intake that I didnt even order. Anyone interested in it? I dont need it, already have a KB/SC on mine. Let me know.

Message: That's cool. I guess my 2003 intake is supposed to be the same as the one used in the 2003 HO 4.7
More or less a compramise between the old HO intake and a non HO intake for max torque, etc and that they now just use the same one on both engines. So That should be a good thing for towing and using the ho cams I hope.
I hope they send me something for free as well :-P

Message: OK guys. My HO cams arrived from KRC.
One question. Isn't there supposed to be a chain wedge tool with these????
I guess I could make one out of wood. I know I've seen the specs somewhere around here. Maybe someone who knows could let me know. I probably wont do this until Sunday after I get back from Tuscon.
I'm happy to at least finally have the cams. Ones longer than the other too. That's a good thing :-P
