Message: Yeah, When you program the performance option for the 91 octane gas I noticed a nice improvement in acceleration. I can really smoke the tires since adding it. It also works as a DTC code reader/reseter should you get a malfunction light, which is also helpful. I have really liked mine . Cost me $289 shipping included

Message: I got one September for my '00 5.9 QC and also use the 91 setting. I like it. I have not had the chance to put it on the dyno yet, but it sure improves towing. Runs out better on the street too.
Hyperchips also has a hand held programmer with different control options, but the numbers were better (TQ & HP) with the SuperChips device.
If you get one, and your experience is like mine and 02 RT NM, I don't think you'll be disappointed.
I think it is a better idea than a custom flash as the price is less, you can insert the stock program quickly and easily and you've got trouble codes for diagnostics.
I bought mine at $285, but was able to get into a group buy at the time. Keep searching for the best price,...

Message: If I had an '02 R/T, I wouldn't get the Superchips tuner. I'd go with the B&G Flash. I haven't found one dissatified customer of theirs. Basically, you send your stock PCM to B&G Chrysler, they custom flash it, they send it back. You'll be happier going with the flash

Message: The flash hands down! The superchips, hypertech agive you positive gains but with a flash there are opions like removing torque management system and being able to give a more advanced fuel curve. The programmer have a basic advance and do not work as well with mods. Just my peace.

Message: 'It is all about the money' is pretty close.
Is what MIGHT be a marginal improvement in performance with a custom flash, from which you don't come back and need to do a mechanical installation worth towards twice the price of a programmer?
In my case, I chose to give myself the option of returning to stock program anytime I wanted and not have any downtime waiting for a chip to go and return.
Simply put, 2002 R/T, what costs are you willing to incur for what level of performance? If cost is no issue, buy a huffer, with all the attached goodies. [Spend the $6-8K to become a supertruck!:-})]. (I wish I could!!) Or, match up your wallet and desires and make as wise a set of choices you can.
And remember the old saying: "There are no stupid questions. But there are sure a lot of inquisitive idiots!!".

Message: Have any of you had a mopar performance computer on the same truck?I'm wondering what your opinions are comparing the mopar performance puter, with the superchips and hypertech programmers, and even the b&g flash.

Message: Sorry, not I
That would be towards a grand and a half for experimentation purposes (programmers at about $300 each and chips at about $500 each).
Puting company reputations and their hard data together as comparison coupled with user opinion is about the best we can do with limited money (hence forums like this! :-}) ).
If you can come up with that level of data (same rig, different goodies), please share. That's like using/loosing other people's money to find the optimum combinations.
Keep the faith, though,...Doc

Message: Cost-wise, I think I'm gonna go with the micro tuner. I'm not taking my truck to the track, but I want enough responsiveness and pep to put the spank on ricers in my area, of which there are WAY too many!!
