Subject: 1995 Oxygen sensor (dumb question) IP: Logged
Message: I have a 1995 Dakota with the 5.2L engine and was wondering if there is only one oxygen sensor? I mean I think so but just want to make sure before I buy a new one. Thanks.

Message: Yes, there is only one. :)
I paid $49 for a Bosch at AutoZone.

Message: I believe all OBD1 systems only have 1 O2 sensor. They can be a pain to get out if they have been in for a while.
Good luck and hope your sensor isn't original!

Message: It is the original and my truck has over 100k miles on it so, yeah it probably will be a pain to try to get out. Thanks.

Message: Mine was original too. I soaked it with penetrating oil , slipped a box wrench over it and hit the wrench with a hammer... well as much as I could. Between the exhaust pipe, frame and transmission there isn't much room.
