But if it looks like your going to lose you could always swerve into his lane and bounce that spam can into the ditch!
HA HA HA! Maybe that would still count as a win for ya? Just a thought.
But don't mind my humor. It's just that everytime I see a fart-canned econo-sized car be stupid and cut me off (as if his spam can could possible own the road) I sure feel like doing that!

Message: I miss old school muscle cars.
My hillbilly friend has had a '73 Plymouth duster since we were younger.
It has a 318 he rebuilt way back when and is worn now (smokes) but still runs.
He even got a HUGE ticket years ago for out running several highway po-po's with it and it's a nearly stock 318. I mean, internals are stock, stock heads, mild cam. Only mods were intake, headers, Holley dbl-pumper, etc.
About 5 years ago he started building a 360 for it. It's some race design and he has over $3k into just the machining and parts but moved to where he couldn't work on it. He has all the parts, just not fully assembled.
This engine has hybernetic pistons, 2.02 stainless valves, ported, all balanced 3K stall, etc and is supposed to be 425HP N/A and intended to use 400HP off Nitrous/Blower etc. The machinest told him 8000 RPM's was no problem. That's almost double the usable RPM's of your stock Dakota R/T!!!
He may be getting out of his apartment and ito a house so he may finally finish this biatch. That car was a LOT lighter than my FOX body Mustang that I had. I can't wait to help him finish it and do some serious Rice killing here in Phoenix.
He'd have to run that pig N/A I'm sure because he got no traction/suspension mods to handle 800 HP! PLus it would just be a trailered-to-the-track car if he did that. That's no fun.
After he killed the 904 tranny and small mopar rear a few times we swapped in for a 727 and a Ford 8.8 rear. The rear will need to be spooled or a posi installed for sure. Hell, we did those swaps over 10 years ago. That's how long it's been since any real work to that car.
Anyway, there's a 400+ HP 360 for ya without boost. (800 with Nitrous or Blower)
Too bad you can't put that set up into a emissions controlled Dakota!

Message: I bet there's more than 1k lbs different than that.
Remember they build those little cars out of recycled beer cans LOL!
My sister in law was driving her 2001 Civic when a Tahoe pulled out in front of her.
The Tahoe got a dent in his driver side door where she hit him.
Her Civic crunched up back into the shape of a crushed beer can. Go figure LOL!
After that she wouldn't buy anything that small because everyone else on the road these days is buying BIGGER TRUCKS/SUV's and I agree with that idea exactly. Driving little cars like Cavaliers, and worse yet, Civic's and the such is like being the insects of the road. You're going to get SQUISHED!!!
That's why my family rides in my QC Dak thank you! I'd rather be the one doing the CRUSHING than being CRUSHED!

Message: I guarantee I can take any of your stock Dakotas in an RSX-S. It's not knocking the Dakotas, but I know some of you guys are totally full of it. The worst I ever ran in the RSX-S was 14.88 @ 92.7...the best was 14.56, and this was a stock RSX-S. The trick is getting the launch down correctly.

Good luck, don't spin.

Message: Im thinking of upgrading my computer in my truck, does Hypertech make a module for a 02 Dakota RT? Also what would be the best computer mods to make to get the most HP and still save gas...or is that possible? Im also looking into putting duel exhaust with flowmasters and maybe headers with an x-pipe. Which series would be the best? I don't want a lot of sound but I do want better performance. What do you all think?

Message: Dakota RT? No way. 4.7L V8 Dakota, you bet will beat a 5.9, all things being equal (equipment and drivers). And a 4.7 would be closer to the acura in the 1/4 with equal work (chip & exhaust, 3.92 anti-spin). Atleast that is what I've seen.
The only RT I've seen beat a 4.7 had NOS.
