Message: I have the Intense Performance intake and a Flowmaster 50 series. Judging from the buttdyno these give an increase of about 10 HP, which is about normal for these mods.
If you use the 40 series muffler, you might lose some low end torque and move your HP into higher RPMs.

Message: I had an Intense Stage 2 intake on my 2002 V6 Dak...also had an F&B TB and a few other "bolt ons". The intake was a quality piece, and looked nice. Did it add anything to the performance of the truck? NO. Of course, neither did the TB, muffler, or headers. I put the stock parts back on just before I traded the truck, and it actually seemed to run better. Save your money and put it in the bank, you'll be $$ ahead.

Message: The only compnay i've ever seen with strong dyno intake numbers is made by Roar, inc. They claim something like 13 rwhp I think. But the intake costs around $300.00. They have dyno sheets on their web page. Then again if you think about it, the K&N fipk only makes something like 6 or so rwhp for the 4.7L and those cost like $250.

Message: Get some PVS plumbing, and stick a K&N cone filter at the end......yes intakes do help alot.
The more cold air you can suck up, and the more air you spit out through the back, the better.

Message: Yes, more air does help you if your engine can use it. You have to have heads, cams, exhaust systems, and manifolds that can utilize all that air before any of that extra volume will do you a snit of good. I don't think that DC designs these engines to be that close to the performance edge that slapping on another intake will cause it to gain big gobs of power.
