Subject: Dakota Headers!!!!Help IP: Logged
Message: Hey guys, just recently bought some JBA headers to fit my 98 dakota with the 3.9. The part number is 1938 and was wondering if they are the same as the 1939 model. I have heard that they hook up to to egr valve and don't know if they will hook up my engine. Help!!!

Message: they are not the same that is why the part number is different. as to the other question, that is the sort of thing you ask BEFORE you buy.

Message: Not much help there smartDakowner. It is obvious that the part numbers are different but if you had the chance to but them for $200.00 brand new, would you pass it up. Didn't think so!!! Anyways the thing I don't know is how the egr valve is hooked up. Whether or not it is a plate that is between the headers and the pipes or whether it just screws into the side. Any more help....

Message: I was going to try to actually be helpful so I just spent 20 min looking in the shop manual for your EGR valve. AS I thought, no such thing on a 98 Dak.
