Message: Hello all. I'm looking at buying a set of Mopar Performance roller rockers, parts number P5249800. I've seen a set and these things seem pretty heavy to me. I know there die cast aluminum but they still seem heavy. Anybody else use them? Any problems with them? Thanks for any info.

Message: is your truck an 88' like in your name? if so then i believe thats a non-magnum motor with a rail style rocker assembly... they cost more because there's more to it. Crowers arent available for it. You have to keep the rail style rockers because thats how the motor oils itself.

Message: If you have an older LA block the choices are:
1. crane Gold RR
2. MPP roller rockers
3. Hughes Engines makes a set
If you have a Magnum V8 RR that are available other than the ones above are:
3. comp cams
4. crower
It doesn't really matter which brand you go with since they are all better than stock. The fancy ones are only need for full race engines. I would go with the extruded alum. RR. They would give you added insurance if you install a cam that requires 325+lbs valve springs. They are only about $20-60 more than the cast RR and are a better quality.
There isn't any real need to go with the Super roller rockers like comp cam's chromemoly or Crower's Stainless steel. If you think you might be spinning to 8000rpms or running a mechanical roller cam that needs 450+lbs springs than I would get them. If your not I think you can think of a better place to spend the extra $100-150 they would cost you.

Message: The truck is a 88, the engine won't be. I'm going to be building a magnum motor for it, minus the MPI. I have a roots style blower on it now, a bone stock 120K mile V6. I want to build a magnum head engine for it because of the flow reasons. Summit has the MP rollers on clearence for $223, why clearence I don't know. The set comes with the hollow push rods and I'll be using the AMC lifters to get the oil to the head. Since it's a roots style blower I won't be buzzing it much over 6 grand. I know I forgot other things so if you want to ask onter questions I'll answer them. Thanks again for the help.

Message: Hughes Engines sells roller rockers also. I've been running a set for 28k miles. No problems.
