Subject: Bypassing speed limiter IP: Logged
Message: Okay, any service techs out there:
According the wiring diagram there is an automatic shut down relay which is connected to joint connection 1 & 2 (in PDC) which is connected to every sensor and fuel injecter. Also probably getting a signal at the PCM from the speed sensor. It's designed to shut the engine off with any problems and also probably the speed limiter culprit. Is it possible to splice the wire going into the automatic shutdown relay to a switch and the other wire from switch to the 14 gauge dark green with orange strip coming out of relay to the wire going to the joint connection number 2? This would bypass the shutdown relay when the speed sensors says to shut down.

Message: Well that would only work if you were parked in your driveway. What you want to do is drive down the highway at about 80MPH and put your truck into park then reverse in rapid succession. This will defeat the speed limiter.

Message: Although primative, can you install a toggle switch, to at least shut down the speed sensor (similar to "keying")?
If its possible, let me know which wire.

Message: Well, just try bypassing the relay and see what happens. You can always splice in more wire to reconnect the relay if it doesn't work or the truck doesn't run at all...

Message: on the toggle switch deal, you can wire switch to create an open circuit for tha ABS, which is what the speed limiter is controlled by. the speed sensor in the diff. reads the tone ring wheel. well, if that circuit is open or the sensor is unplugged, there is no speed limiter. so it will work. works on mine.
