Subject: AC died...worked 1 min but not the next. IP: Logged
Message: AC was working fine yesterday. Went out to head home from work and turned on the AC and got nothing but hot air. Worked at lunchtime though. Can hear the electric fan coming on but noticed that the compressor clutch isn't engaging when I turn it on. So far I have only checked the fuse inside the drivers door, broke out my manual and see theres another under the hood. If not that, any ideas?

Message: One time, happened to me similiar situation. Even looked under the hood, on max setting, comp clutch wouldn't engage. Truck was new, took it to dealer, it worked, and has ever since. Feeling stupid after I checked everything first, I asked what they did-Nothing!

Message: It could be just low on gas. The system has a pressure sensitive switch that will cut off the compressor when it is low on gas to prevent it from burning up.

Message: Within 800 miles after I bought my new 2002 R/T, my A/C went out. The first time it was the switch in the little snowflake button on the dash that turns the AC on and off. They fixed that then within 500 more miles the PCM had some type of internal error that would not allow the AC to function. These American made vehicles are poorly made with cheap parts, plain and simple.

Message: Ok, thanks for the ideas. I played musical relays under the hood since they all had the same part numbers and the unit still did not work afterwards.
Was hoping to not have to pay an Auto AC place to check it out but with the hot Florida weather coming up in the near future it has to be fixed.
