Subject: exhaust exit in front of rear wheel IP: Logged
Message: i got a 2002 quad cab with the 4.7L it's 4x2.
ok
so can I/a shop cut the exhaust system so that i can get the exhaust to exit in front of the rear tire.
i looked around and didn't see anyone doing this so i wondered if it was even legal. the truck is paid for but i'm not flush with cash.
i was thinkning about getting a new muffler as well if i do this. my friend has a Flowmaster 40 series on a chevy 350 and that is too loud. any suggestions. i want to be able to accelerate in my neighberhood without getting complaints.
any help thanks

Message: yes...most states that i know of, the exhaust has to at least come out undder the bed. just cut under the bed, then take that piece out..then cut the tip off(tha angles part) and mate it up to the rest so it comes out before the tire.

Message: my problem is the hangers
they are right up against to muffler
so if i leave them therre i have to rout the tip forward to get it infront of the tire
also could i do a custom duel job on this?
that gas tank seems to take up every available inch in the other side
thanks
