Subject: major MPG loss after mods IP: Logged
Message: I need help ! I have a 2002 R/T with only 4900 miles on it. When I first bought the truck I put a Airaid Intake with a K&N cone, I checked the MPGs and they were 12 in town and 15 on the highway. In the past few months Ive done several mods in a short period of time and did not check the MPGs with each mod. I added MOPAR wires, 3923's, brass cap, 180 t-stat, 50mm TB, Gibson muffler, and the B&G Chrysler PCM flash and removed clutch fan. Now, the past two tanks Ive got 9 mpg !!! Thats a combination of city and hwy driving. I was under the impression that these mods would either help or atleast keep the milage about the same. I plan on 1.7RR's and 4.56 gears next month, could I get down in the 7 to 8 mpg range !!!???

Message: See if you have any codes in the computer, Reset your computer, maybe have your fuel mapping checked out.
I have all those mods, plus 1.7RRs, 2400 mopar stall convertor, etc...and I still get 12-13 mpg in the city. I would think it is something wrong with your truck, like a heavy foot. Try resettin the computer first, it happens sometimes.
