Message: I have been wondering for a few years now if it is possible to take a 4 cyl dakota gut the engine compartment take everything including the rear gears out...and slapping a crate 426hemi into the truck...does anyone else wonder about this. If you have and have more detailed knowledge about the size of engine vs. compartment. The tranny would have to probably be a 727 torqueflite...and the gears are anyones guess...Let me know what you guys think.

by the way...the above combo has smoked a porche at highway speeds ...I was doing about 70 north of seattle and this set of lights came up fast, weaving through traffic etc...once I realized what it was I turned to my wife, she loves my truck, and asked if she wanted to see me make a porche owner mad...he got to about 1 and a half car lengths behind me when I punched it...he could not muster the guts in his car to get it past me....porches dont have torque at high speeds...he backed off and tried a few more times...each time same result...he couldnt pass mopar...

I think Hot Rod Magazine had a project Quad Cab with a 500+ ci big block. So, it's definitely not outside the realm of reason. But definitely outside the realm of my wallet.
