Subject: Help, fan stuck on ! IP: Logged
Message: I just had my computer done today by KB (Optimizer II), once the truck starts to warm up, the fan stays on.
I called em back, and he said that
they always set the fan turn on at 180 degrees
(to keep it running cooler) . . . he suggested that I needed to put in a 180 T-Stat, and that
the fan would shut off when the engine cooled down.
Well, just put in the 180 T-Stat, it is 60 degrees
outside, my truck is definately running waayyyy cooler than it did without the 180 T-Stat.
BUT THE FAN WILL NOT SHUT OFF . . . .
(it is off when the truck first starts up cold)
Soooo, should I pull the relay and just run without the electric fan until I can get my computer back to KB next week ???
Does anyone have a home number for Ken Bell ??
Everything else about the Optimizer II is bitchin!
I also just put in the HO cams, and wahoooo, this
truck hauls some serious a$$$ (for a 4x4)

Message: Well if the fan is supposed to turn on at 180 and your thermostat is supposed to regulate the water temp at 180..... well you do the math. It equals the fan will never turn off.
