Message: I have a 99 Dakots Club Cab. In my opinion the greaatest thing since sliced bread. Is there anyway I can soften the rear end a little for better rear downforce and traction and keep my present load capacity?

Message: I'm not sure on the softening part, but my dakota didn't come with a rear swaybar installed. I ordered one from JC Whitney. It was a Hellewig and the cost was somewhere around 140 dollars. It as worth every penny. The install was quite simple, just be carefull when loosening the clamps for the rear brake line to install the U-bolts. The clamps just pry up with a screwdriver. Off the line launch was slightly better, with less wheel hop, but accelerating around corners is much better. Plus the ride is great and it didn't affect load rating

Message: Schulzie do you think that sway bar will fit on a lowered 2000?

Message: Get some "velocity sensitive" shocks like the Edelbrock IAS, Rancho RSX or Pro Comp ES9000s (my choice). They will cushion the unloaded ride and not decrease the performance.

Message: Ian
The end links on the sway bar are kindof long to get the right angle, but i think they would fit. They don't extend down below any other part of the truck. I'll measure the ground clearance on my truck, and you can subtract the drop. How did you drop you truck. I'm looking for a 2/4 drop also.

Message: Schulzie new springs in the front and new spring hangers in the back. If I had it to do over I would go with Hotchkis.

Message: I took a closer look at the end links today and it shouldn't be a problem. They don't extend below the shock mounts on the bottom of the axle or below the diff.
Ian - were you able to do the lowering yourself/what did it involve - special tools?

Message: With the bar installed and the truck sitting at its normal ride height the end links should be at 90 degrees to the bar. If its not you should be able to shorten the end links.
