Subject: fuel prob....I think IP: Logged
Message: Truck runs great with the new motor. I'm starting to notice something though, at around 4800 or so the truck acts like it starts to cut off fuel, but if i stay into it it will get to about 5000 and run fine pulling hard to the factory rev limiter. I cant rember if it did this with the stock pcm or not. Could this be from having the dist sync out a bit? I set iut up with an volt meter but not a scan tool yet...

Message: I had another car do this i was building up and it turned out to be the valve timing. Assuming you haven't had the timing chain off that would not be a possibility in this case. You can always hook up an air/fuel ratio gauge to get the real picture of what is happening. Maybe fuel or ignition timing need to be checked as well? (Just throwing up possibilities)
