Subject: JET Module for 4.7 IP: Logged
Message: I have a 01 dakota 4.7, so far I have done no modifications but I have been looking into it. I have been looking at this JET module by jet performace products, they sell them in JEGS. Does anyone have an opinion on this?

Message: Go to jetchip.com Play around with the application section and you'll see the part number for a chip on a 2001 4.7L engine is the exact same as on a 1998 5.2L or a 1996 Full size truck with a 5.9L. The part no. is for many, many other applications.
My point is that the 4.7L engine is a whole different monster all together than the older 5.2 and 5.9L magnums. I might could see the same chip working on a 5.2 and 5.9 because they are so much alike, but not on a 4.7 too.
I tried one on my 4.7 when I first got the truck. Did nothing and I took it back to the speed shop I bought at. That's when I went to thier website and did some research on my own and found out the "NEW" chip out for the "NEW" 4.7's was the exact same thing they've been selling for the older trucks.
In my opinion they are crap. Sorry, but that's the way I see it.

Message: I agre with those graphs. It felt better when i first put it in but after a while (3k mi) the power seemed gone, removed it and reset the computer and got my poer back. IMHO i think they are not worth the $$, I can say this as I have already gotten rid of mine.
