Message: The wheels for the new Dak sport 2001 are now 16" wheels with wider tread. Still waiting for my truck but was delighted to see what kind of rims and tread will come with the "tire and handling group" I was worried that because everyone keeps asking about getting R/T rims to re[lace there 15's but with the 2001's there is no need for this. The R/T's are still alittle bigger 17's but 16's are much better than the 15's of 2000.

Message: I have the tire and handling group (4x2) that came with 255x65x16 eagle ls tires. They are great tires...but don't follow the tire pressure recommendations from Dodge. Mine said 30psi...these tires feel very mushy at that psi... but feel great at about 35-40psi.
Watch out for the crummy stock shocks...you may find that the truck bottoms out and has way too much body roll (even with the rear sway bar). I have only had my truck 2 months but already swapped out the stock shocks for procomp es9000's. Much better...

Message: Josh. I am looking forward to it. Should be here in mid May. Won't 18's start to take away from the bottom end performance. I was thinking 16" or 17" would be a perfet medium.

Message: Jeffster, With the 3:92's there is way more usable bottom end torque, so hopefully the 18's will not be a problem. What I need is more top end. Already have throttle body spacer and an intake, need headers and an exhaust.
I read in another post you are from Vancouver, my whole family is from there. My wife and I will be there the weekend of May 12-13. Do you live in Vancouver, North Van, or West Van. If its North or West you might be one my aunt's or uncle's next door neighbor.

Message: I live in Coquitlam a suburb of Vancouver. Let me know what the 18's do. I love the bottom end torque the most.

Message: On this topic, how wide of a tire can you put on the stock 16x8 rims? I'm talking 2wd here, the factory uses 255/65/16's would a 275/60/16 go on the rim and not rub anywhere? Tire rack sells a Pirelli Scorpion Zero in this size, they reccommend a 7.5-9.5" rim and the overall diameter is within .1" of the stock size, it's just an inch wider then the stock tires. How about the BF goodrich 295/50/16? it says it needs at least a 8" rim but is overall 2.5" smaller in diam. but a good 2" wider.
