Message: Stay by the book, 30,000 miles every. or Dodge wont warranty this. and you need to have Dodge service trans or the warranty is void, this is according to my dealer. but fine with me. 140.00 for the service, trans takes two filters.. The trans shifts better after service also..

Message: I changed mine at 9000 miles. I changed the filter's and the fluid. I used Redline Synthetic C+ ATF and Mopar filters. I now have 16,000 miles on it. I will change it again at 24,000. It is better to spend a little more now on fluid and fliters instaed of buying a new trans at 60,000-100,000 miles!!!!

Message: it means change it EVERY 30K meaning, 30K, 60K, 90K, 120K, I think you get the idea. As long as you keep it changed you'll be alright.
45K huh? any problems? Do you ever shift manually, with my mods, I have raised the power band a bit so it really screams up to the rev limiter. But it shifts automatically about 5200, so in order to get the use of the gear I have to manually shift. (plus it's fun)

Message: only mods I have are the Leach PCM, 3" single chamber Flow dumped, Trac-Lok diff w/ 3.55's, and a drop in K&N. Haven't had any problems with the tranny but then again I dont dog on it too much...at least not bringin to the redline too often.

Message: 30,000 is only recomended under normal usage! Sever is less then that. Truly your are looking to stay ahead of oxidation. That is realy all that matters. If you can minimize varnish and oxidation then there is no reason why your tranny should not last as long as yur engine!

Message:
For all Dakota owners and those of you who may own additional vehicles which are not Dodge Dakotas:
AMSOIL Synthetic ATF provides outstanding high and low temperature performance and oxidation stability. AMSOIL Synthetic ATF also improves fuel efficiency, reduces transmission temperatures and increases equipment life. The service life of the universal AMSOIL Synthetic ATF is up to five times the service life of conventional ATFs.
Since 1999, due to the special requirements of their automatic transmissions, Chrysler has recommended a unique ATF+4 formulation. In addition, Chrysler has been recommending ATF+4 for all previous makes and models of Chrysler Corporation vehicles. The new AMSOIL Synthetic ATF exceeds the performance specifications for Chrysler ATF+, +2, +3, and +4 as well as MS-7176 A, B, C, D, & E; MS-9602 A, B, & C. as well as Ford Mercon or General Motors Dexron III applications. AMSOIL Synthetic ATF is available in quarts, quart cases, twin packs, 30-gallon and 55-gallon drums.
