Subject: Traction problems!!! IP: Logged
Message: Hey fellas,
Well I went out to an old country road tonight with the old G-tech and had immense traction problems. I added Mopar performance headers and an intense performance stage II pro-flow intake since the last time I used the G-tech and now find myself in need of traction. I ran several times with absolutely no form of traction unless I creeped it to around 15 mph then got on it, which at that point it would not spin as much, but would still spin. I have a sir michaels roll pan, spare tire and components removed, BF goodrich KDWS tires (soon to be replaced by nitto 450's or 555's) My trap speed is a mere 94 MPH, which I think should be better, but I may be wrong. Does anyone know the weight of the CC r/t?
99 dakota r/t CC
Intense performance stage II w/ pro-flow filter, MP headers, MP cat 4ward pipes, MP 7.5 mm wires, MP computer, 180 tstat, 3923's, sir michaels roll pan, spare and components removed, low profile tonno cover.

Message: If you can, try putting on wider back tires for more traction.
Or, try to transfer some weight to the back of the truck, like the battery for example.

Message: I had really bad traction problems with my stock 99 cc r/t, none at all until 30, i replaced the tires with some dunlops, and lowered it, now it hooks up much better. I would say the tires are really important, and getting rid of wheel hop.

Message: If you were using a G-Tech to measure your 1/4 times then the trap speed you give you will be 3-4 miles higher than the trap speed a track will give you. The G-tech gives you a true MPH where as the track is an averaged speed.
