Subject: SUPERCHARGING??? IP: Logged
Message: Im going to run into about $6000 and I want a supercharger for my 2001 QC 4.7. Which one should I go with? Kenne Bell, Vortech, or any other ones out there I should be aware of? And how hard are they to install? I don't have much experience on engines this new but I know how to turn a wrench. Is there any upgrading I will have to do when I supercharge (fuel, ignition, etc..)?????? Thanks for info!

Message: vortech kit is still in the works, Paxton Novi
1000 seems like the best one out there. You
can run their 6psi kit with a stock setup, once
you try to create more boost (smaller pulley),
you will most likely have to upgrade the fuel
system, etc.
visit www.speedtweaks.net, they carry the
superchargers, and have lots of good info on
the 4.7's ; )

Message: i also heard from powerdyne that a supercharger from them should be out mid-summer so i guess that means in about 4 years :) .....but it might be worth the wait not to have to tap the oil pan....

Message: yeah, thats the only downside to the paxton.
Kenne Bell you dont have to tap the oil pan.
There has to be people out there with
superchargers on their 4.7's, I know one guy
on this board has the kenne bell, it would be
great to compare dyno #'s, so we can see the
best "bang for the buck"
