Truck Performance has a Commando Clearance on the Crower 1.7 for 5.2L engine but I think they may only have one set left. I bought mine today and was told yesturday that they only had two sets so good luck. Oh yeah paid 399 for them. I wasn't planning on getting a set untill I got an FM throttle body, high flow cat and catback exhaust but I can't pass up a good deal.

I am posting this in a few areas so someone else will get lucky.

Well thanks alot Matt.....

Because of you, I also spent $415.37 (includes shipping) on my 1.7 RRs this afternoon.

I ordered mine from Eric at TP and he said they had 3 sets left.

I'm wondering if it would be worth it to get new push rods and guideplates. These are included in the Crower "kit", but are not included with the "clearance" buy at $399.

Anythoughts anyone?

Bill

Heard that Crower's are a rail rocker so don't require guidplates.

Kota is right they sell two sets. I can't see being above 5500 atleast not often so I shouldn't need the guideplates and push rods. I don't do any racing.

Kota on 20s - did you use the kit with guide plates and push rods? Do you see any advantage to using these on a "street" truck?

Did you ever use your valve springs?

The 1.7 'K' kit is good for 5500 rpm.. Go over that, and you take your chances. I've done it a few times... still okay. My truck with the M1 makes power to 5200 rpm and I shift at 5300 rpm... SO... if you stay below 5500 (plenty for a stock cam and beer barrel intake, even still with an M1) you should be fine.

The 'PK' rev kit is good above 5500 rpm (to about 6500 I believe). **if you plan on running above 5500 rpm for extended durations, it's a good idea to change to heavier valve springs**

I sell both, and have both in stock. The $399 is a great price (they're giving them away), so snap them up. I still sell them for $425+shipping... Also sell the F&B TBs as well (free shipping with F&Bs!).

REMEMBER-- You need to run Mopar Performance Valve covers with the Crower 1.7 roller rockers, otherwise-- if you plan on using your stockers, you'll need to 'relieve' the baffles to clear the taller studs/rockers.

If you have any questions during installs, etc... Call me (619) 448-5016 no matter who you get them from-- I'll talk you through it.

Thanks for the info rt. I am suprised more people have not jumped on this deal. They said it is an overstock so they are selling them at cost. You also have an excellent price on them. I will keep you in mind for future buys. I still need the throttle body, catback exhaust, high-flow cat and maybe the M-1. I got lucky on one of these deals from them with my K&N FIPK for $175 about a year ago. I am always looking for good deals since I am on a budget. Do you ship to APO adresses?

Sam, APO is a military box. Ship them UPS as the post office really lags on getting stuff to the folks in the "services".

(BTW: And you'll like this one Sam...i'm switching my Mopar rollers back to my old Crowers. Can't handle the "clack clack clack" from the mopar/crane pieces.) Love my Crowers! :)

Yes APO is military and it can be a pain getting stuff shipped. UPS does not ship to us but USPS does and I think FEDEX does as well. I have waited up to 7 weeks to get stuff in the mail. When shipped priority it usually takes a week. I had four boxes shipped the same day from my mom one time and one box got here in a week and the other three where spread out over another three weeks. Bernd I e-mailed you a while back and you said that you shipped to APO addresses. Thank you. I hope you still do with the change in shipping you just made. I still have an eye on a few things from you but it will probably be a few months.

If they do that is great but every company I have dealt with says they don't. I have had to have things shipped to my mom and then have her ship them to me. UPS requires a signature upon delivery and you do not get that when shipped to an APO because the final destination on their part is usually the East coast where the military takes over. Or atleast that is my understanding of how things work. If I had a physical address then UPS does ship world wide. If you have recieved packages through UPS I would like to know how so I can stick my foot in companies a$$ for not shipping to me. If they have a contract with UPS and UPS does not ship to APO's then it is UPS that is the problem not the company. Of course if UPS does ship to APO's then it is the company and they have no reason not to ship to us. I buy alot on-line and am very loyal with the companies I have luck with.
Well the deal on the rockers is over. I hope I helped a few people get a good deal. Sorry about the long complaint.
