Message: I also am in Dallas looking to turn my R/T to a blown R/T, what kind of supercharger do you have, did you install it yourself? had any issues? What about the heat down here? how much of a difference does it make? how much boost you running, any timing mods?

Message: I'm kinda questioning whether or not to make mine a blown R/T...cuz I've been hearin people bustin head gaskets and fuel pressure problems. Think Drtswinger is havin fuel pressure problems w/ his. Plus a SC wheres out the engine faster than it being normally aspirated running all that boost right? Mine is a daily driver not a strip truck so I gotta get the most out of mine.

Message: Mine is also a daily driver, but, unless your flooring it all the time, your engine really is under boost.
My main concern is blowing a gasket, timing problems and detonation problems.. (I guess timing and detonation go in the same box there) as for fuel pressure, a the powerdyne kits I have been eyeing comes with a FMU and a differnent high volume fuel pump.. should take care of pressure problems..

Message: Hell I'm already flooring it all the time haha. A SC would want me to floor it even more. I'd be through a set of tires in a week. I'm gonna see how much HP I can squeeze out of it w/o SC or NOS.
If you get one on let me know how U like it.

Message: Well i have the powerdyne unit, which I am frankly getting sick of. I'm pretty sure i just blew my second set of head gaskets tonight.... and they were fel-pro. so much for that. I'm spittin out coolant again, and the upper radiator hose feels like its gonna burst. fun fun. I think im gonna rip it off and sell it, possible the Dak to... Ive had to many headaches with it since I got it, and its burning a real deep hole in my pocket. If you do blow it, research it very well, and be sure to take every precaution nessicary. I sure didn't and Im payin the price.

Message: Thats what I was going to ask, what pound pressure you running, and do you have the boost bypass? what about the fuel pump? What year R/T is it? The guy I spoke with, the one who would be doing my install for me said 6lbs isnt' really that much boost, that if I ran 11 ro 12lbs, then I'd have to worry about the gasket.

Message: I'm positive its 6 pounds, the boost gauge never reads above 6 1/2. Its a 99 rt with 50k miles, ran great before, has an the inline fuel pump with stock injectors.I drive it normally, with a punch here and there, but I dont rag on it. Although there has been a development in my gasket story. It might just be a stuck thermostat this time. (its a stant) Its running fine now, not even coming close to overheating, and a chemical test showed no exhaust leaking into the cooling system. Weird, something still seems fishy though. I'm still trying to figure out whats up, but i dont know, its been tempermental. As for the benifits of a charger.... when it runs right.... bye bye lightning, thats all I have to say. on six pounds too. Its cool to pull up to car shows with that familiar whine comin from the engine at idle. heh. Oh, and I owned a 72 dodge dart swinger before this dakota. sold it for 4500 bucks.. 318, 727 tranny, 8 3/4 rear.... lots of fun, i miss it a bunch already. anyways, im gonna end this long post... ask me any questions yall have about the powerdyne and i will help to the best of my abilities.

Message: I have a high flow cat, flowmaster muffler, 180 thermostat, k&N high flow cone filter, and royal purple oil ( if that counts heh) other than that its stock. Ive only had the truck 2 monthes. I bought the sc, it didnt come on the truck... none of those things did. As for who installed it... me, some friends and a dodge mechanic I know. The install is pretty easy, thats one thing I can say... very simple install compared to when we did my friends 96 camero and his paxton blower. but thats comparing apples to oranges.
