Well got my new Dynomax Bullet race series muffler on and OH MAN does it sound so much beter over the flowmaster. Just as loud if not louder with no drone, tinnty sound, and does not sound like a cat was thrown into the pipe when you get on it. It has a nice POWERFULL deep basses rumble to it that you can hear throughout the RPM range. It sounds like an old Dodge Charger with a 440. One word awesome, never go back to flowmaster again.

Ive got a Dynomax on my 3.9, and yes It does sound better than the floMas. I especially like the subtle gurgling popping sound when getting off the gas. Very racy! At 70mph I can hardly hear it.
Im glad I didnt go with the FloMas. however i've heard they do work better for the v-8's who knows.

man I just got my ultra flow straight through
muffler installed with 3" pipe and 4" tip,
LOUD LOUD LOUD...If you have a 4.7 motor,
definately forget the flowmaster. My 2
Chamber sucked, and after taking it off, the
welds were already breaking apart, after only
5000 miles. Sorry dont have any wav files, I
am not that computer literate. Go to
www.jegs.com though, they have great prices
on any race muffler. and my megs coneshape
tip is the icing on the cake!

Have any dyno numbers on the Dynomax compared to Flowmaster? Just cuz it sounds louder don't mean your getting more power...if the Flowmaster made more power but wasn't as loud as the Dynomax I'd choose the Flowmaster. I have a Flowmaster 40 on my 01 R/T and I get looks everywhere I go, it scares people walking by at a grocery when I crank that thing up, it also sets off alarms when I drive by so I'm happy w/ mine. But if you can prove the Dynomax makes more power then I'll swap mine out.

Well the dynomax is a straight thru design and the flowmaster is not. The flowmaster has baffles and metal plates that get in the way of the exhaust flow. It has been proven that the dynomax flows much much better than the flowmaster.

the dynomax feels more powerful than the
flowmaster...I havent had it on a dyno yet, but
less restriction = more power right? anyway,
the tire marks on my street are longer than
ever! plus, the seals on the flowmaster were
already breaking after only 5000 miles.

go to this site, and listen to the Durango 5.2
with the ultra flow welded muffler. If you want
sound and performance, I think dynomax is
the best bet.

first of all any exuast on a v-6 sounds like a lawnmower engine why not buy a v-8 and if the "dynomax" muffler is straight through then why wouldn't you just chop the muffler. sorry but flowmaster has been around for a while and i dont think a dyno max that you can buy at your local auto parts store can be any better if not the same

Ive now had stock(v6), Flowmaster (v6), Stock (4.7), Gibson dual (4.7), and NOW MBRP (4.7).
Out of all of them I really Like the MBRP the best for soundn (not quite as loud, but more growl)
But the biggest difference is the power!!! Man what a change!!

Pat not all V6s sound like lawnmower engines only 4clys. You need a muffler to pass inspection and yes dynomax is better than flowmaster. Not only does it out flow the flowmaster it also sounds better and probly will at last it too.

I'm not flaming, but less restiction doesn't necessarily mean more power. Reports from dynos on mods like no muffler, etc. actually showed less HP. Apparently, the 4.7 needs some back press., especially for the low end tq.
It seems that all but about 2 posts, including dynos, say the 'jetChip' and JT2, Don't work, but people keep buying them.

flowmaster is produced (cheaply) in Mexico,
the necks break right at the weld, If you want, I
will send you my 2 chamber 40 series and you
can already see the seals splitting...It only had
5000 miles on it. Check the flow ratings on
the dynomax vs. flowmaster...flowmaster has
been around for a long time, but they havent
redesigned their mufflers in a long time, their
technology is old.

MBRP is high peformance Race Exhauast produced in Canada. They are more well known for their stainless steel system but have a few aluminized options too!
They are dyno proven! And I will also testify for their sound, quality, and power!! I just put it on my 00 dakota 4.7 and cant believe the difference!

If you only have a muffler get dynomax. IF you have headers and no cat get flowmaster. A straight through muffler coupled with headers and no cat will confuse the poor computer's processor and your truck will sound great, but not run worth sh9t. Sorry we cant have super loud trucks and great performance.
