OK here's another repetitive Subject.

I just received my MSD 6A system. (I purchased it used from someone on this board. Looks great! It has all parts, papers, etc.)

Anyway, I was performinmg a "search" to see if there may be some helpful install tips contained in prior posts.

I pulled up many posts regarding MSD ignitions. It seems that a great majority of the posts were very negative towards the MSD with no increase in performance noted. Some posts even suggested there is reduction in power when the MSD ignition is used.

That's just what I need, a perfomance mod that decreases power!!!

Since I'm just about to install mine, I'd like to have some POSITIVE MSD feedback, if there is any.

Thanks

Bill

P.S. Sorry I know thats not exactly the positive feedback you were looking for haha.

I use a msd and never had a problem. Didn't lose power but a msd is not going to give 50 hp. Its going to help burn more efficient. Plus it gives some play on your mods. Like I can control my timing because of it. With the start/retard box by msd that has to tie into a msd ignition allows me to retard my timing any where I want. 2 Years old and had problems once and they fixed it for free.

Thanks for all the good posts!!! (one will do)

I'm going to install it as soon as I find time.

Does anyone have a good recommendation on where to put it?

I read where someone suggested putting in on the drive side fender well, behind the battery. I was thinking I would want it more visible - maybe even on the firewall somewhere.

Any pro and con locations??

Thanks

Bill

I put it where the stock air box was by the horn. reason is is that it is close to the coil and saves you from running wires everywhere.
