Message: SO I just perchased a Jet Stage 2 chip and am happy with the results. It pulls harder now, finally. My 4.7L 2000 though sounds as if I need the recommended 180 thermostat. I think my fan isn't turning off. I heard I didnt need it at high altitude, 6200feet? Is that true? In response to some of Jonas Janek's questions, I like my Airaid a lot. I might upgrade though to the Z tube someday. I paid 200 for the airaid last July. My exhaust is just a full 3inch diameter louvered glasspack. These mods alone made a huge improvement. Does anybody have the Poweraid TB spacer for this enigine? Also I went to the Dodge dealer and asked about ordering a 2001 TB, the computer diagram looks the same. Has anyone tried this? Is it worth it? If anyone is looking for performance goodies go to truckperformance.com They have very good deals. Thanks for any replies, everyone youre a big help.

Going from a 65mm '00 model TB to a 68mm '01 model TB will definitely enhance your airflow. Especially with the free-flowing intake that you have.

Message: Thank you for your input. I am just nervous because the dealer said it wasn't returnable. I asked if I could just put it on in their parking lot, and if it didnt fit send it back. Ill order that tommorrow. Thanks Bernd.

Message: Hey Jon, will you please make a post on the results you get after installing the 01 TB. I really want to order this but I do not want to be the guinea pig. I am also strongly considering the flometrics TB but I am waiting for some more info from Bernd about the perf gains. Thanks

I don't have any Dyno proven gains if that's what you're asking for. I only know of three people who have switched out their 65 to 68mm. Thet noticed acceleration gains after the initial PCM relearn. (No data for MPG though.)

Message: Bernd will the 65-68 switch work with no other mods,do you think it would be worthwhile.I really dont want to trash a new ss muffler and tailpipe and I am leary of changing my air intake.I think you could change the tb without alarming the dealer. Then you reset computer and start looking for lightnings??
