Subject: What spark plugs have people had... IP: Logged
Message: the best luck with in the 4.7? No problems right now, except a little rough idle. 24k on the original plugs and they are starting to show some wear. Good color though.
Thanks

Message: Well i haev used the bosch platnium +4's with bad
results in the 4.7L...i suggest to stay away from
those but some people have had better results. I
have also used autolite 5224's with good results
but after 5k miles or so i seemed to get a rougher
idle back. I am currently using splitfire plugs.
NOw most say that these are garbage but i have to
disagree. I have gotten better gas mileage and
power out of these compared to all the others i
have tried. Almost every time that i pull out, if
i want to squeel the tires i can, on level ground
and i haven't done much as for performance
upgrade...just an exhaust and K&N filter with a
little mod that i did. But i think this all comes
down to previous experince and prefernce for what
plug you want and what application it will be used
for. Hope this helps some.

Message: I've had the Bosch Platinum +4s for in for 10K miles. Much better than stock plugs, NEVER a problem, glitch, or hickup in performance.
(I chose these based on the advice of MANY people
on this forum who race their trucks and tweek
them on a regular basis )

Message: I had the Bosch +4's in but pulled them because of issues brought up about the new coil over plug design and potential failures. I use the 3923's and have not had a problem with them.

Message: Does anyone think its bad to keep changing to different plugs. I want to find the best one for my truck (4.7) I had the originals they were fine and now I have the 3923 and I guess they are ok. I feel I lost some power over the long haul. I have them in for around 10,000 and its time to change. I want to try the 5224's. Any suggestions?

Message: Hog Head - I was looking at the Iridiums, as they sound pretty awesome, but I was worried that the 4.7 would not like them.
I know that the manual recommends copper core plugs for the 4.7. Are you running them now, and in what engine?
Thanks!!

Message: Why do so many folks think that the BOSCH plugs are NOT copper-core? LETS NOT FORGET THAT BOSCH INVENTED THE SPARK PLUG!!
Virtually all BOSCH, NGK and ND(NipponDenso) paparkplugs are copper-core.
It is only the Champion, AC, and autolite that seem to use the "copper core" claim as being special in some way. (but their "regular" sparkplugs are less than a $1 each because they are so cheep [no copper at all] )
Here are some links to the Iridiums;
