Ok so I was headed home from the football game last night when I pull up beside this guy in a long box regular cab chevy with a cowl hood that I think chevy is offering stock now or something. I burped the throttle and accelerate a bit. He rips up beside me but we are both stuck in traffic. He starts weaving in and out of traffic to blow past me. I speed up a bit and keep him in viewing distance. We go about 20 blocks where he's stopped at a light and I'm the second vehicle back in the right lane. Light turns green and I wait for him to accelerate so I can slip behind him then take him. We get going and I rip up besid him doing about 90KM/h. I got it in 3rd and I'm pulling about 3K on the tach. I again burp the throttle for him to go. He floors it and so do I and he just slowly pulls away from me after about 110. My dad being in the passenger seat is just laughing since he owns a '99 6.0 3/4 ton Chevy. I was so choked. I have 3" flowmaster catback, 3923's, clutch fan removed, and a 180 t-stat. My next purchase is an intake, but what else can I do, other than Nitro or a super charger to help me from being humiliated?

Just curious as you don't say but what rear end gearing do you have? 3.55 or 3.92?

if you held thats good. Your truck is pretty heavy and probly has the 4x4 tires. Maby the gears, ms ingition (or prefrance) a diet for the truck. I don't work out of my truck any more so I took off the hitch, tool box and replaced the bumper for the roll pan. He also has a computor up grade gm shuts off at 98-100mph. if he left at 110, hmmmm, some thing fishy, and not just the chevys' girl freind.

He must have had something else done to his truck to pull away from you like that. maybe a supercharger?? I have a bud with a 2000 silerado that my 4.7 CC 4WD will make look sick.. he has the power programmer plus headers to boot !. p.s he just blew the read end with 20 throusand miles on sat.. guess too much powerbraking ! ......
