Subject: OIL PRESSURE GUAGE IP: Logged
Message: Early today I noticed that I had a vaccume hole on the right side of my engine unplugged so I Plugged it with a silocone hose and a big screw at the end of the hose for a plug. But later I realized that my oil pressure was reading normal but when i drive the truck around the block the guage reading went up. Could someone tell me what could be the problem? 1999 Dak V8Mag 5.2

Message: I am not sure what the vacuum hole was from. Did you feeling any vacuum from it while the engine was running? Your oil pressure should increase with RPM because the oil pump is being turned faster. At idle you should have around 30-40psi and 50-70 around 3K RPMs.
