Subject: F&B 69mm TB, 4.7L dyno numbers IP: Logged
Message: I bolted on Bruce's 69mm TB for the trip to Carlisle (Chrysler Nats) this past weekend. Man does this thing pull hard ! I pulled into the show field and let the truck cool for about 3-4 hours, before I hit the Mopar Muscle Dyno shoot out. So we backed it up on the rollers to see what she's do. The results we're pretty decent!
Bruce's 69mm TB added approx 4 HP and 6 lb ft TQ, to the rear wheels. I was happy, 4 hp does'nt look like much, but the 4.7L has never been low in HP, however the TQ has always been a little lower than the 318/360 pushrod engines. No modification to date has given an increase in TQ to speak of. I had been pulling 285+/- everytime. After the F&B TB, it pulled 291 lb ft, and 215 hp. These numbers are probably going to be a little on the low side, I did'nt have a good air intake to hook up, Bruce came up with a Homemade air duct, which was corrugated. I have a feeling a Z-tube would have yielded better numbers.
Next on the Test bed: Bruces 70mm and 72mm TB and a Z-tube !! Back to the dyno folks, stay tuned!!

Message: I take it a K&N GEN II FIPK will still fit on Bruce's new billet TBs?

Message: No, not without modification. Bruce's TB is about 4" in Diameter, the stock TB's are about 3" +/-. There is a Z-tube from Intense Perf. coming out that will fit onto Bruce's TB.
You might be able to modify the K&N FIPK to fit, I've never seen one though.

Message: He he he. My super 4" intake tube will fit.
You can easily modify a Z tube BTW. Just get a 3"- 4" rubber coupling adapter at the home depot plumbing departmnet. That's how I hooked up my "super tube"
