NO, just get the whole rear diff. just the gears wouldn't work. i am talking about swapping the whole rear end assembly.

I believe daddio means the whole housing axle, diff all of it. It is easier to swap it out as a unit then to spend the time to try and set up the gears. If you have never done it its a huge pain. We generally allow 2 days at our shop for gear swaps. Not that it will take both days, but there are a lot of tetious measurements you have to know and cant rush though. Also it is very tough to get used gears set up. In this case it may be easier to get a used diff with the ratio you want and just swap it like daddio suggested.

if you think swapping the whole unit is too much work then you definitely don't want to tackle the gears without prior experience. shadetree is right there are a lot of tedious measurements to take when swapping gears.

so ill either wait til i have more spare cash and take it to get done, or just find another way 2 get a little more "boost"

I just did my leaf springs so the axle had to be disconnected,it was easy,a whole axle swap would be a piece of cake compared to just the gears.
