Message: What's the hype about trucks with the 318 Magnum being slow at top end? Mine keeps going past 90 fairly quickly, faster than any Honda I have ever rid in. People fail to realize that the worse case scenario, the time you take with all the torque loosing a ricer will even you out in the long run even if you do get slower than them. So they are even in a sense. I have never been beaten by a Ricer. Are stock 1996 Dodge Dakota 318's considered fast? I know mine get's from 0-60 fast and on up to 60-100 fast. after 100 it somewhat slows down a tad. 115 it tops out and speed limiter kicks in.

No. Of course it depends on your frame of reference.

Message: depends on what truck you have auto/manual 4x4 or 4x2. my 93 4x4 auto with 195,000 miles goes from 0-60 in 10.9 seconds I don't know if that's fast. speed is relative and if your driving a stock civic you will think these trucks are fast if your driving anything faster than a dokota you will say they are slow.
by the way how fast do your trucks go from 0-60 in because I'm curioust know if my high miles are affecting my truck that much. I have 93 auto 4x4 318 with 195,000 miles on it 0-60 in 10.9 seconds

Message: Mine did 1/4 mile in 15.4 bone stock with almost no traction.
I just put my buddies g-tech on my truck and 0-60 was right around 6.5 seconds. Thats not too bad for a truck.

Message: LOL.....mine does WAY under 10 seconds. Mine does around 6.5 seconds as well. Here's the specs of my truck:
1996 Dodge Dakota
5.2L 318 V8 Magnum
Automatic Transmission
SLT package
Extended Cab
Infinity Package
0-60's in 6.5 seconds.
K@N Air Filters
Um...my truck held with a 1987 5.0L Ford Mustang GT. It pulled away at top end around 110, but from 0-80, I was right behind it. Actually took off faster than the Mustang at initial 3 seconds.

Message: BTW, the Gen II is not extremely heavy. Gotta consider power/weight ratio versus a Gen III. A Gen III stock or mildly soupled up will not keep up with my Gen II. Already tested it multiple times with my friend's Gen III.
