Or you can trade it in on a sports car if you want fast.

Speed costs. How fast do you want to go?

fast, cheap or reliable. pick 2 you can't have all 3 together.

best advice, save about 4 grand and either supercharger it or add that 4 grand and your truck and trade it in on a sports car.

Don't waste your money on the V6. Either bolt a mild 5.9 in it or a mild 383-440 and let it rip.

I'd just trade it in for an R/T quite honestly. For a 16yr old (judging by your post name), I'd think the insurance would be rough on it though. I honestly doubt you are going to get 300 horses out of a 13 year old V6 Dak w/out a total tear-down. Even then it would be questionable.

I feeeeel your pain though. When I was your age (back in 1996), my first vehicle was a 1969 VW Beetle and a lot of other people had expensive muscle cars and sports cars that mommy and daddy bought them.

I have seen cases on here were people have taken out their V6 and put in a 5.2L .318. Not sure if the trannies would be compatible, but it is an idea that wouldn't cost too much I don't think.

"cost is a small factor"

which is it? 300 hp from a 6'er will cost you around 6-8g's. ask Larry from J & J. he's posted on here and has a stroked v6 running around 300rwhp.

as i stated before "fast, cheap or reliable. pick 2 you can't have all 3 together."

quite honestly your not going to get anything close to 300 hp with a v-6 but try this I am 16 t0 and I have a v-8 since you have 2wd you have weight advantage just try to make as muc hp as you can. since you don't need to worry about tourque too much just go for all the top end hp components you can.

go for a krc v-6 cam(1.7 rockers don't have enough gain for your aplication)

if you have an auto put a high stall tourque converter in it you will get in to the power band faster.

decide what you want(super charger or naturaly aspirated) then decide how much you can spend then plan accordingly.

contact a local engine builder he should be able tell you how to build the most power in your v-6

not quite sure what they offer in upgrade intakes but get one if available

ps. go to www.krcperfomance.net that should help you find the parts you need to build powere in that baby.

NOS lots of it and get it on video when you win and it blows up.

if money isnt a problem than get a truck that is quick to start off with and go from there.

not try to discourage you but the v6 is gonna take a lot of time and money, to make fast.

hell i have the 8 in mine and barely break into the 15s down the 1/4.

p.s what are you racing, cars or trucks or big rigs-j/k?

If cost isn't a factor then buy something that goes fast as it is. Don't try to re-invent the wheel with a V6. If you really had the cash you wouldn't be asking the question on this forum, now would you?

Ahh nonesense. 300HP IS possible.

Scrounge the junk yards for a descent turbo. Sometimes I see them for $50 and they are still good.

Spend a few hundred on the blow off valve and what it takes to connect it.

Add a few more hundred for an intercooler. And some fuel pump, injectors, and FMU. You could hit 300HP for $1k if you buy used or at shops that don't rip you off. Many places that sell trubo or s/c kits are making some $$$ big time just to pay for it in a kit to bolt on. Reliablity could go either way. Sometimes with good tuning I hear people can make a nice cheap daily driver that way and blow some doors off while you're at it!
