Message: Anyone have this on their 4.7? Fitment good? Look as nice in person as it does online? Perform well enough?
Thinking about getting this intake sometime shortly and kinda wondering if anyone has any feedback.
Please please please don't flame me for spending $250 on an intake. I like a nice CLEAN looking engine compartment and a PVC intake just won't cut it for me. The nice big bends and polished stainless on the 77series look great to me.
Thanks guys...

Message: Thanks!
I have already removed the goofy tube thing on the front of the stock airbox simply for sound reasons, noticable sound difference.
Summit has it for $262 and change I think it was, I have a $10 off coupon so it'll be about $250.

Message: I have an 03 CC, 4.7 5-45RFE 3.92 Posi. I installed a K&N FIPK on it and it felt like it lost power! I have a decible meter from Radio Shack, it registered 86 db at 70 mph in 2nd, full throttle, stock. With K&N, same speed etc. It registered 104 db. Unexceptible! with no power gain. I offered it for sale for $50, no takers. It's in the land fill! K&N draws it's air from the right side of the engine compartment next to the computer. Hot air is very bad, especially Dodges.

Message: Well, Summit just raised their handling fee for the new year. It is now $9.50.
So that coupon will just cover it.

Message: I just bought one brand new from Exotictruck-auto on Ebay for my cousin. Paid $187 plus $19 shipping. Ebay item #8025582320. Might want to check this out before paying $250 or more.

Message: I don't know anything about the 77 series. I have an 03 Dak 4.7 and I tri'ed the FIPK and it was too!( loud,) with no improvement in performance. I'm going to try a True-Flow system, and it may decrease the sound. Very importent for old people!

Message: Vinnie, I was in the same boat as you. I used a Volant (tube and cone filter) for about a year, and decided the sound wasn't worth it (not a big intake sound fan myself...). I hacked the Volant tube to run from the TB to the stock airbox, and dropped a Tru-Flow filter into the airbox. That is pretty much the Tru-Flow system.
The sound went down to just slightly more then stock. I did not notice any performace gain though.

Message: Sounds like these things are really loud...may forego this upgrade for a while. I'll see what my SuperChips gets me for performance.
Not to mention Summit's price on both the FIPK and 77series intake went up to $292. So I just spent my $10 certificate on some Hella FF75 fogs for my Safari Bar
