Message: Has anyone noticed an increase in power with this chip? (JEt Chip Stage II). I'm going to put one on my 2000 3.9L V6. I already have a free flowing exhaust, and cold air intake. Should i replace the thermostat with a 180' one? I heard that it really didn't do anything. Any help would be great. Thanks

Message: You will see not Power improvement. I have been running one for 2 years now. The only reason I run it is because I have a 180 degree TSTAT installed and I got it used and real cheap. Without it and having a 180 TSTAT installed, I was getting 16-18 MPG hiway and 14-16 around town. With it I get 20 -22 Hiway and 18-20 around town. If I did not travel so much, I would toss it.

Message: Steve, those numbers are with a 3.9?
My 2001 4.7 Quad cab does better, and with a bit more fun.
I know that for the 4.7, dynos showed no gains with the jet 'paper weight' chip.

Message: Yes that is with a 3.9 In 97 they only had 2 choices 3.9 and 5.2 and the rated MPG for both were the same. I think the 4.7 has provided the Dakota with a bit better MPG and performance.
