Subject: rear swaybar??? IP: Logged
Message: Is their a replacement for this flimsy looking piece of metal
in the rear that resembles a swaybar??? I have a 99 CC 5.2L 4X4.
I'm having a tough time believing this "bar" actually works, but
that's just me.

Message: Only one way to find out. Run some fast corners with an empty and full bed. Make sure there's some quick L-R-L, so you can evaluate transient response.
Now, remove the sway bar and run the same course at the same speed.

Message: I added a 3/4" sway bar to my 2wd 00 cc and it made a big difference, my truck didn't come with one. I think the stockers are 9/16", a bit smaller, but it still should help control the rear end quite a bit. I think Addco and Hotchkis have 7/8" rear sway bars that connect to your stock end links. The BellTech I added on didn't need the stock end links, but bolted up to the pads on the rearend.
The stock bars aren't going to make the truck handle like a sports car, especilly on a 4wd, but they will help control the truck. I had a set of thick swaybars on a V8 S-10, that thing would stick to the corners. When I got my first Dak, I realy missed the old truck because it handled much better than the Dak, but that was the only thing I missed.

Message: If you can get to a junk yard, yank one off an R/T. It's a bit bigger than the one you got.
