I am currently working on my chassis for my 87 Dakota that will be getting either a 400 or 451 with two PT54 turbos . I am wondering if I should box in the rest of the frame or not? It is already boxed in as far back as the front cab mounts from the factory. It will be running leaf suspension in the rear for now but I would like to step up to a 4 link eventualy. It wont see that much track time maybe once or twice a year but will be a daily driver in the summer.

PS it is going to be fuel injected but I am not sure on what ECU to use. (thinking about using the megasquirt.)

I would. Also consider triangulating the frame rails. A little extra weight, but a whole lot stronger.
