Message: I have the 4.7 and put the JBA Cat-Back on it. I liked the muffler because it is a flow through, no baffles. It is a single 3" out but I do not have the need/want for the dual look. I love the sound also, not too loud but it tells you it is there.

Message: It's all a matter of personal taste, just like music. I hate rap music, but others don't. I happen to like the sound of Flowmaster - others don't.
Go to a cruise in or something like the Good Guys Show. Take a close listen to vehicles of a similar configuration - full size cars, small truck with a V8. See what you like, then choose. Don't go by somebody else's word, just like music. If you asked me, I'd tell you to buy Meatloaf, Bob Seager, Jimmy Buffet, and John Denver. (Listen closely and you'll hear all the gagging out there).
And don't expect any of the cat back systems to add big gobs of power; not going to happen.

Excellent advice, .boB - I'm going with Magnaflow for my '04 when they start shipping in 2 weeks (per Magnaflow on Friday). I'm going with them simply cuz I have their system on my Mustang Mach 1, and I *DIG* the sound...
BTW - If ya look on *my* iPod, amongst the 15 Gb on there so far, you'll find lots of Seger, Meatloaf, Buffet, and *yes* John Denver (mixed in with Anthrax, Metallica, Tim McGraw, Alan Jackson, AC/DC.... IOW you name it, I like it. Except Rap :-) (course, I do have some Kid Rock for posterity).

Message: i've got a 2000 quad dakota and put gibson sport truck exhaust on and love the sound. i do get some sound in the cab but nowhere near the sound you get at the tailpipes. sounds really good. you might try checking out exhaust sound bites on the internet to make you own decision.

Message: I put on a magnaflow muffler and bought a universal exhaust tailpipe from flowmaster. The tailpipe is 2.5 inches. It coms in four pieces and is slip fit. I only had to use three out of the four. Its mandrel bent, but aluminized. I cut it to proper length and painted it black before bringing it to my local shop to get welded on. I put a nice tip at the end too. The install at my shop cost 30 bucks. I have a 4.7 auto with the HO cams and HO intake. This 180 dollar cat back greatly improved my low end. I can cruise down flat roads at less than 1250 rpms @40mph. On the highway i never pop out of over drive. I do have 4.10 geas in my 4x4, but i did the cat back 6 months later and noticed an improvement in low end. I heard all the hype about people losing low end with the larger tailpipe so i decided to try this set up. It sounds great and was faily inexpensive.

Message: I have a stainless steel Borla and love it. The craftsmanship is excellent and the sound is perfect. Mine is 2.5" before the muffler and 3" after. The exhaust tip is polished and integrated into the pipe. The only gripe I have is the price...$550.00
