Subject: Supercharger? IP: Logged
Message: I am thinkin about getting a supercharger. My question is can my engine handle it? I already have v8tb, autolites, brass cap and rotor, IAT adjuster, MSD Igntion, MSD 8.5mm ignition wires, MSD Blaster Coils, And a K&N Cold Air Intake.
I have a '98 3.9L V6, with 98k miles. It has been fairly well maintained, regular tune-ups and such. Is 98k too much for a supercharger? Suggestions are appreciated.

Message: I put one on my truck at 121K. My motor was in excellent shape though, compression, oil consumption etc... dropped 1.4sec and gained 9MPH in the quarter. That was 3500 miles ago, so far, so good.

Message: Just be careful in tuning in your air/fuel ratio.
as long as it doesn't run lean you should be good to go!

Message: someone said i should get new injectors first. I forget the numbers i have, since i dont know a whole lot about them yet, but they said i should get some injectors out of a 5.0L Mustang, since they are supposedly really big. i guess that would stop me from running on a lean fuel mixture. What do you think?

Message: You can't guess at this. Too big injector is no good either.
You must set up the charger and run it on a dyno for a true reading and tune it in from there.
