Message: Had Similar Problems with my tranny sincros. Took it in to my local Dodge house and they said 'Oh, sincros are going south, bring it in Next Wednesday', they kept it a week and fixed it with no problem. $2,199.35 with deductible for me $100, not any problem. Take it to a repital Dodge house and get it fixed. Stop dinkin with the looser shop. If you have to drive to another city then do it. Document you milage and then call Dodge back. Man I ordered my truck in Germany, so if I got that 'You didn't buy it here" bull sh!t, I'de sue Dodge.

Message: Thanks JB, but I spoke to the State Attorney General's office this morning. They say that all a dealership has to do, even if I manage to get a judgement against them, is appeal. The process of just getting to a judgement generally takes 12 to 36 months from the date I send my registered letter.
After fighting for 1-3 years, the dealer only has to spend $200 to appeal to the Circuit Court. At that point I can decide wheter or not to refile with the Circuit Court. If I do re-file, the local Circuit Court currently has a 30 month back-log so it will be at least that long before I get a court date. If, after all of that, I manage to win a second judgement from the Circuit Court, the dealer can still file an appeal to the State Court. At that point I'm likely to be 3-6 years down the road and out the time, filing fees and attorney fees just to start to fight yet another appeal.
The State Attorney General's office put it this way, "It's the golden rule. He with the gold RULES!". I haven't got the time or money to fight one of the largest dealers in the city. As much as I'd love to put them in their place, what they've done to me so far is nothing compared to what it will cost me to just try and make them do the right thing. All I can do is take my next purchase elsewhere. Since they've banned me from their lot, I don't think they care much about that either.
At this point the plan is to pay for enough of the lemon to be able to afford to trade it in and hope it doesn't self destruct before then.
Like I said, Think I'll ever own another Dodge? Think Dodge gives a damn? It sucks to be a poor working class stiff trying to get ahead and corporations like this can do what they want, when they want, how they want and all we can do is smile and lick the SH-T off their BOOTS!!

I'm from that area, about 50 miles west of Memphis, and it is crappy that any dealer would treat a person like that. Yes I know it happens everywhere.
Well TnJones, good luck anyways with whatever course of action you choose to do.
Don't give up on Dodge, because of ONE dealer giving you the ol' shaft. Try West Memphis, or Forrest City, or Jonesboro, hell even try Mississippi dealers.

Message: I have an '04 4.7 2WD Dakota with the 5 speed. From the day I picked it up I have had problems with it grinding second whenever I try to shift fast or at high RPM's. Anyone else got that prob with second? Reverse always gives me a lot of trouble as well...also fights to go into first around 5mph and sometimes at a dead stop. The truck has 5000 miles on it. Anyone else have the same probs? I don't seem to be having any troubles with third like you other guys. Any help is appreciated.

Message: Lemme see... The truck has gone 292K miles and the tranny is making noise and therefore "junk"? If this is the first incident with the tranny you certainly didn't get a junk unit. If you had that many miles on you, you would make some noises here and there...

I can't understand, even after a quick proof read, you somehow think it's OK to post a message that way.
You can do what you want, I try to.

Message: A 'junk unit' is more like my original NV3500,
gears started chewing themselves up at 10 000 miles,
loud whinning noises and big chunks of metal on the drain plug magnet.
Replaced by dealership under warranty, this one now gets Redline MTL changed out once a year, now @ 60 000 miles without a problem.
hope my truck reaches 292000 like yours...
