4 passes total same result.
Called hypertech and called there bluff. They blaimed it on my headers. They claim "hypertech" is for stock to nearly stock application. Gave me my money back though. Makes you wonder. Can't fool a DYNOMETER
If you get headers don't get Hypertech? You will lose HP and Torque. Supercharger is next mode will post those Dyno results soon.
Keep in mind Dodges claim to 250HP is at the flywheel not the rear wheels where it counts.

Message: Hypertech systems tend to work on close to stock or stock apps in almost all cases. If you are running some heavy mods, I suggest you have someone flash your stock computer so it is optimized for what you are running.

Message: I would not condider headers "HEAVY" mods. However you are correct. Hypertech is for manly stock applications and the changes it claims to make are meager for the money. I would love to see a stock application on a Dyno. Infact I Called Hypertech and for some strange reason they do not have that graph??????????hmmmm

Message: Great info Kevin! Way to call their bluff that's hilarious. I would not consider headers to be a serious mod either.

Message: Chassis dynoed not a Hypertech, but a Jet Module on my 2000 4.7 Dakota. One whole horsepower difference...big deal... not worth a fraction of the $280 selling price. To be fair...it was about nine degrees warmer on the day we dynoed the Jet. Still....the module went on Ebay the next day. Does anyone have any input on the Next Level Performance chip I see advertised? Just another waste of money I suppose.

Message: Makes you wonder whats inside all that plastic? Nothing? They are probably betting 1 out of 100 will Dyno test the results.

Message: People have been saying the jet chip is junk on this site for years - surprised to hear people here are still buying them. For a '00 Dak, you would see definite gains with the increased spark advance available from the Mike Leach flash, but you have to send your PCM off to CA to be flashed.

Message: Thanks for the input. Next Level emailed me and claimed a 5-7 horse improvement...probably not worth the trouble. At least they're not making "20 horsepower gain" claims...I'll give them that. A blower would be nice, but just is not in the budget right now. Anyway...for the record...my 4.7 dynoed at 206 hp...with Gibson 3" exhaust, helix spacer, Intense Performance intake, and synthetic oil.

Message: With a Hypertech being about the only Mod on my truck the first time I ran at the track (Hypertech, CAI), I pulled a 15.89 (97 CC SLT 5.2). After Crower 1.7 Rockers, Gibson Cat Back, Carsound Cat, M-1 intake Manifold, Accell Ignition system, and pulling out my 125lbs subs & box, I got it down to, uhh, 15.65. However, when I turned off the hypertech and plugged in the stock PCM, it did drop by .4 of a second in my 1/4 to 16 sec. Mopar PCM is definitely on the to-get list, but I'm wondering if going with a programmer would be better.. hmmmmm

Message: Come on .4 of a sec. Ken there could be a million reason that happend. Yes 1 of the million could have been the Hypertech but for $275.00. Another could have been the big meal you ate for $4.95. put it on the Dynometer if you want a more accurate reading. Get a blower that shave some time.

Message: Well, the Stock PCM did not have time to re-learn before I ran it, but I ran both the Hypertech freshly reset and then the stock PCM, back to back runs. I'm not saying I like the Hypertech, but with the mods at that time, it did make a difference (btw, bought it used for $75). Also, they Hyptertech is a detonation monster. I had to run 93 octane until I got headers and an intake manifold, now I'm back to running 87 octane, even with a heavy load in tow with no detonation :-)
That particular night, I wasn't running all too great, 15.8 and 15.9 I think with the hypertech, and I think 16.1 or 16.2 without it. Would still take the Mopar PCM over it any day from what I hear.

Message: Thank your lucky stars you only paid $75. Mopar PCM will/can make the difference. A blower will shave seconds.

Message: True, but the Mopar PCM is only $360 vs $2200 - $4000 for a blower, and blowers have a tendancy to, uhhh, dis-member an engine with too much boost :)
My dakota is getting up there in age, 131K on the block. I've thought about the blower, but want to get myself out of debt before I do that. Course, 408 stroker is the way to go if you have the funds :-)
