Got it in a couple weeks ago, but haven't calibrated it so my speedo and shifts are still off, but they are better, I kinda adjusted it some using mile markers but I am gonna use my friends GPS(this weekend hopefully) to set it perfect. So far though, it looks like it was worth the $300 beans to save on tranny wear and tear.

Now that I decided to keep the truck (I was thinking of an 03 R/T, but figured if I wanna go fast I'll by an old charger) I wanna put just a little bit bigger tires on it, I hate sitting lower than a 4x4 s10 or ranger.

Do you mind if I ask you what's all involved with the install?

Thanks I appreciate it

The install is nothing more than a few splices, I stripped the factory wires back some, used solder and sealed everything real good. Took about an hour once I found where to run the wires to keep the unit inside the cab, I have it tucked under the driver side of dash so its fairly easy to access and away from the elements. Can't wait to get it accurately calibrated.

If you are running tires larger(or smaller) than what came stock on your truck, the speedo and shift points will be off since they are electronic. I am not sure what year they switched to electronic, but it is around 1994.

With the Truspeed unit made by Super Lift it recalibrates the signal coming from tranny to computer and corrects both speedometer reading and shift points which theoretically will reduce tranny heat from slippage and possibly improve gas mileage. I calibrated mine today using a GPS and it DEFINATELY shifts better, if the gas mileage goes up that will be an freebie as far as I am concerned. It was well worth the money I only wished I put in on back in December when I first bought it:)
