I've been contacting all the manufacturers to see who can make a lift for you guys with 2000+ Daks
Here's what I got--->
Trailmaster: No response.
Superlift: Not enough sales numbers to justify the engineering of the lift.
Procomp: Nothing being developed right now, may look into the application later.
RCD: No lift available
Fabtech: "we may be looking to build a kit later this year" Keep your fingers crossed. They make good stuff and get a lot of business from 2wd Daks. They have just recently began developing 4x4 lifts.
Rancho: "Thank you for your interest in Rancho products. We are planning on coming out with a Suspension System for the 2000 and up Dakota/Durango, but it is still in engineering and the details are not final and I do not yet have an accurate release date. The amount of lift will probably be about 3 inches, there are no current plans to go higher. We will be happy to send you any updates as they become available."
A lot of Rancho distributors have "coming soon" for the 2000 Daks so once again keep your fingers crossed and save your pennies.

I would suggest all those who want Fabtech to start designing and perhaps start making lift kits for 2k+ 4wd to send Fabtech emails. That way they know there is a market for it!!! Their email address is :info@fabtechmotorsports.com or sales@fabtechmotorsports.com.

I just e-mailed info@fabtech to see what there take on this was.. Because I don't want us spaming them if they aren't going to pay attention to the e-mails. Hopefully they will see a demand and the .... how ever many 4x4 owners are here now will just make them work faster.... but as you all know I live in a dream world where suspension lifts work correctly and they do it the first time.
We'll see what Fabtech says.

Whiplash suspension makes a 10" lift for 2000
dakotas and durangos.I found out about it a couple
of months to late. I bought a 99 5.5" lift from
rough contry, for my 2000 4x4 dakota that maui
offroad modified

How did that modified lift work out for you? Sounds like something I'd be interesed in doing. Do you know exactly what the shop did to it, hope it didnt cost a fortune.

First off. To let everyone know why rough contry
does'nt make lift kits for Dakotas over 99 is
because the 2000 the dakotas were changed over to
rack and pinion steering, makeing it harder to
lift. So any problems that might occur, would be
in the steering components.
when I got it back from the shop, I was very
impressed with the apperance. the 33x12.5 baha
claws, gave it a real agressive look. I did run
into steering problems. Also minor rubbing
problems. the tires still rubbed when I made a
full turns. The lift, changed the angle on the
steering rod causing
u-joints to bind. Also, The steering rod slighty
rubbed the frame. Also, A tremendous amount of
play was felt in the steering colum, especially
when offroading.I put up with those problems for a
few months till I learned that a body lift
combined with a new steering rod would solve all
my problems. And it did. The 3" body gave me
ultimate tier clearance. No more rubbing what so
ever, not even while offroading. It also gave the
new steering rod a perfect angle. I was about to
buy a brand new borgensen rod, but they got one
off a chevy that was a perfect fit. And for free.
As opposed to the stock steering rod witch was
shorter and had more joints, the chevy rod was
longer and was one solid piece. now feels actualy
better than stock. Alot more solid and stable
feeling.
This was their first time doing this lift, so it
was an experimental one. Im not sure on the exact
details of the mods on the kit but I know they had
to fabricate some parts, like a crossmember and
maybe some other brakets.( Its hard to tell by
looking at it because they sprayed everything to
match.)Thats more or less it.
The cost of the rough contry kit is about $13-1400
and what ever the shop you go charges you for the
mods. Maui offroad charged me about $600. Then
rims, tiers and labor. You can do the math.
As far as pictures go. I have lots. Just one
problem, Im kinda new to all this computer stuff
and I dont know how to get it on here.It probably
took me an hour just to type this damm thing up.
Anyways, this is my room mates computer and he
knows how to do it. I'll try to get some out soon.
