Subject: Torsion bar crank front shocks IP: Logged
Message: I cranked my torsion bars on my 02 QC dakota 4x4. After putting in
a 3in body lift, I now need to replace the front shocks and am
wondering if I can just run stock size shocks or if there is a specific
length I now need due to the extra preload from the torsion
crank???
thanks

Message: You should be able to use stock shocks. I have my 97 cranked way up and put on stock size Skyjacker shocks and works great. The 2000 and new trucks have a little different front suspension but should basically be the same. Skyjackers are cheaper than Rancho and just as good. Bought mine from Summit Racing. I also bought the $45 shocks and they are stiff as hell. If you want a softer ride buy the $36 ones or Gabriels from a local parts house. Sometimes you can get scatch and dents even cheaper directly from Skyjacker.
