Subject: Switches to 4-Lock on it's own
IP: Logged

Message:
I have a 2005 Dakota Laramie 4x4, which is full time 4-wheel drive(AWD), that has roughly 50K miles on it. At least 5 times within the past 3 month's or so, I have looked down at the dash and saw the 4-lock light was on. At first, I thought it was an electrical problem, but when I turned my wheeles, they buckled, indicating it was indeed in 4-lock. I had to stop the truck, PUT it in 4-lock, then put it back into AWD to fix the problem. This might have something to do with a quiet, but noticable pop when I turn my wheels to the right from a dead stop then accelerate. I am still under warranty and have already brought it in once for this popping problem, and Dodge replaced my upper and lower ball joints on both sides, which didn't fix the problem. Any advice would be helpful.. Thanks.
