Subject: 95 dak, torsion for front, but rear? IP: Logged
Message: If I crank the torsion in front, can I can get blocks for the rear? the truck sets pretty level now, so I would think if I cranked up the front, the rear would sit low and require something to even it out. maybe blocks, or perhaps add-a-leafs?
Opinions?

Message: Well. You have some options for the rear: blocks or add-a-leaf or flip kit, depending on the rear suspension configuration.
If the spring pack is attached under the axle:
--A flip kit will move it above the axle, instantly giving about 4" of lift. Those require welding.
OR
--Adding a leaf or two to the spring pack will give you some lift, at the expense of ride quality.
If the spring pack is above the axle, blocks will do the trick, and you'll need to get longer U-bolts.

Message: I've got a 93, Our suspension is exactly the same as mine, so the flip kit is out of the question considering the axle is already below the leafs, So block, shackle or and add a leaf will work fine, Although an add-a-leaf will give you a stiffer ride. make sure if you go with leafs they are full length, i've had expirence in the past where shorter add a leafs will eventually ruin the whole pack, they were old though. I i were you i would just go with blocks or shackles

Message: The other day I noticed on my '88 that the shackle is mounted with the pivot below the spring mount. Not sure if it's the same on yours, but there should be a way to flip it mounting the spring below the shackle like most leaf set ups. That would be good for 2-3" and should maintain the stock ride.
Blocks will also maintain the stock ride while giving extra height. If you go with the Add-a leaf, you'll get more travel and height...

Message: I put the 32s on there today. Just had to trim the front airdam a bit. cranked the torsion bars up. it's sits a hair lower int he back, but I fo have a fiberglass cap on. Not sure if I wasnt to add a leaf or just use a 1 or 2 inch block to level it out.

Message: They also don't give you more travel. More leaves means more force is required to flex the spring pack, thus decreasing travel.
