I own a 99 2wd V6 dakota. currently stock with 3" blocks and 31" tires. This truck is my life. I have a dream for my baby "Jasmine". I have researched this for about a year now and have come to one conclusion. A complete rebuild under the hood and under the frame which will come out to a grand total of about 30-35 thousand $. My dream...two 2ton axles, 2 driveshafts, tranfer case, big tranny, 14" dual coilovers (yes, i have found someone to supply them...everyone has their price), and 49" Iroc Superswampers $1000 a piece w/wheel. Now, after $20,000 for all that, theres 10 left for the motor,he he. I talked to the people at mopar and for 10 grand, they will build me a 440 with 584hp+ and 586ft-lb torque+. it will be a tight fit but no one thought that one guy could fit a V10 in his dakota and he did. I will be posting pictures in about 10 years when this project is finished. any ?'s comments or concerns are welcome. And yes i am a foolish 18 year old but i will finish this ultimate dodge.

Funny, I'm a 19 year old with the same basic idea. Only I'm doing dana 60's front and rear, 16" fox coilovers on a 4-link front suspension and 38's. Then swappin' out my v6 (239 cubic inches of fury) for one of KRC performance's 408 strokers. We'll go wheelin in 10-20 years

im 19 too (fulltime college student) and i have dreams for my baby one day....
shes gettin a dana 60 up front, ford (blah, i know) 9" rear, custom 4 links on each corner with(not sure how big) coilovers. lockers front an rear with np203 transfer case. Full skidplates and running 35" TSL superswampers on MT classic II rims
for the motor im just doin a 318 magnum swap to replace the 239 inches of fury (lol).
finish paintin the body an shes done.
O, this is an 87 too. it will be the most bad@ss gen I out there. im eyein you up walt. haha, dont worry. yours will still be the envy of us all!
i will see ya guys out there in about 10 years... by then she'll be well broken in... (the suspension is gettin done next summer, motor this summer)

I think alot of people have this sort of vision. We all want bigger and more capable undercarriage than dodge gave us..yet love the rest of the Dakota..Hell my 5.9L is good enough for me but i still want 35s! Im 22 but plan on keeping this truck forever so when you think of what you could be spending for a big car payment and high insurance..you could put half that into the existing and goodlooking Dodge and come out ahead and unique. ..now to scrape together the money.

Im looking to take a rolling chassis of a similar year 4wd V8 Ram and swaping the body & interior over off my 90 Dak. Then all suspension engine tranny ext would be ram stuff and could be easier bought as compared to the dak. Alittle more rednek than yalls 4 linked Dana60s and V10 Viper engines, but also ALOT cheeper. Good luck to ya. Shoot picts as the work progresses.
Oh and im 22 and a full time construction student. I feel your $$$ pains...

i'm an 18 year old college student and I have huge dreams for my truck too! I want a kick ass body lift with 33" mud terrains! But, until then, I'll be out gettin 'er done in the mud with my 31 AT's. Hope to see you guys in 10 or 20. (97 3.9 4x4 cc auto)
