Subject: Question on gas tank skid plate IP: Logged
Message:
Hi All,
I recently bought a 2003 quadcab 4x4 and I am setting it up for light duty off-roading. I've put on the steel Mopar skidplates (one for the front diff, the other for the transfer case). The dealer tells me there is no gas tank skidplate available for the 03 QC 4x4. Are there any other alternatives? I'm abit worried as part of the tank does extend below the frame rails.
Mike.

Message: Umm, Im not sure if it helps any, but I have a 1998 club Cab 4x4 (ours are both GenIII's then) and I have a skid plate over my 22gal tank, but Im not really sure what the diffenence is between the Club and Quad cabs as for the position of the tank and such. Hope this helps a little.

Message: The quad cab has a larger tank and for some reason about twice the cost from the dealer. No aftermarket ones available for the QC either. I have been in searck of a reasonably priced one new or used for over a year now ('01 model) without success. Have tried Internet used part sites, local yards, etc with no avail. Good Luk!
