Subject: Which Wrangler Is The Better Tire? IP: Logged
Message: I'm Planning On Putting Some 31/10.5R15 On My 1997 Dakota CC 2wd With A Fabtech 3" Lift. Anyways, I'm Dead-Set On Goodyears Because I've Had Great Experience With Them And I Was Looking Into The MT/R When I Noticed The Wrangler AT/S. According To The Specs Via Goodyeartires.com, The AT/S Is An All Around Better Tire Than The MT/R. I Have A Very Hard Time Believing That An All Terrain Will Take My Pickup Further Into The Rough Than A Mud-Terrain. Has Anyone Had Any Reviews On Either Or Both Of These Tires?

Message: a AT is just that. it does good in every terrain yet excells at none. a mud terrain does well in mud and most other surfaces. the only place a all terrain will smoke a mud tire is wet and dry traction on street and they last 2-3x as long as a mud tire. Ive had both types on my trucks. I like all terrains if you do a lot of street driving and go off road a little ( if you mostly do dirt roads and sand and little mud youre ok with all terrains) I also like them cause theire not as noisy as mud tires ( soem mud tires are louder than others)
Now I like mud tires if you do a good amount of mud in your 4 wheeling. or go off road a lot. otherwise stick to all terrains if youre on the street a lot. also the MTs WILL wear out in 1/2 the time if not less than a all terrain.

Message: I'll tell you what, i will never put another goodyear tire on my truck again, i bought a set of goodyears last year and sold them this fall in exchange for some bfgoodrich all terrains. goodyear tires caused me problems like vibration, wouldnt stay balanced more then a month and poor wear life... my opinion, goodyear sucks.

Message: I have heard that with proper matinence (rotation, tire pressure etc) that the MT/Rs have been lasting 40K and more miles...that is damn good.

Message: I HAVE 33" MTRS ON MY TRUCK AND AM HAPPIER THAN A PIG IN S@!T WITH THEM. THE ONLY AREA THEY MAY LACK IN IS ON ICY PAVEMENT. THEN YOUR ATS MAY BE A BIT BETTER BUT I'LL NEVER SELL MY MTRS

Message: I got more mileage out of my last set of MTR's than BF Mud Terrains.
