Message: Hey guys this is an awesome site! I tired the search but couldnt come up with exactly what I was looking for.
I need to keep my 2003 Dakota as low as possible, for a 4x4 that is. Reason is my wife rides the sand dunes alot and can't lift a quad in to a lifted up rig. Anyway alot of times we drive out onto the sand to unload. So I wanna sticj with like 30-31" tall tire but be as wide as possible. Like 12.5" or so. Any tires made like this? Would this require any lift. I am going to buy some new wheels so I can get better back spacing.
Message: It's the 16" wheels that are throwing me. I'm not sure what the sizes amount to in inches......I am looking towards a baja claw or pro comp x-terrain.
Message: For a metric tire (most 16" rims), the first number is the width in millimeters (granted this isn't exact, every tire is a little different - this is just a quick and dirty method) ... there are ~25.4 mm in an inch, therefore simply divide the first number by 25.4 to get the approximate tire width in inches. Hope this helps.
